Actually let me ask my question from my first post again. Does the intro/outro of YL count as a guitar solo?
I'd say no. It's more like the Little Wing intro, Mike plays around the chords E B A E over and over. The little bit in the middle *is* a solo, where he leaves the chord progression to Stone and Jeff, and then no longer hits the bass notes on the E string.
I defitively go for Alive on this one. It is the solo that defined Pearl Jam for me, or Mike's style more accurately: it must be the first solo I've ever learnt with AC/DC's Highway to Hell. There are a lot of licks that you can use ad nauseum: the double stops, the bends on the G string while holding a note on the B string (forgot the name...), the "Five to One / She" lick... It's classical E minor pentatonic (with additional notes of course, myxolidian mode or whatever, I've never understood this stuff !), but the basics are here ! It's got an epic vibe that totally fits the song and gives an uplifting ending, that became with years a celebration during the live shows, with the famous "yeahs !".
Glorified G is another great solo, there are some classical Mike's licks in it (the hammer on's round the 10th fret are often heard in live shows for other songs), D major scale (always nice to hear something else than a classical minor).
Yellow Ledbetter plays in another category, it's a nod to Hendrix (it reminds me a lot of And the Wind Cries Mary) for a whole song, I hardly consider the end as a solo (even I love the 2000 versions with the delay or the various tags).

You need to get yourself a better orgasm.
MUSICAL orgasam. If I had the choice to listen to alive or get some reassurance I'd go for the later (live, I'm not so sure)
YOU need to get out more
Or I need to get the wife into some kinkier sex
Remember that night we discussed the kitchen table?
she's got a jigsaw puzzle on it

So far I'm the only one that hasn't picked from the two top choices. I didn't pick the first two because I cannot choose. And I did not pick the third one because I think there are others out there that are adding to my ability (or lack of) to choose.

i don't understand the need for the ellipsis in these threads.

But when come to solos, i found Riot Act to be the strongest album.
