"Hearing Alive is one of the greatest musical moments of my life. I heard it and I just wanted to be it. Mother Love Bone, Green River, Brad, Temple of the Dog - I had every single, I bought the bootlegs. Eddie Vedder is one of the greatest living melody writers, up there with Elton John. I want to know what's in his brain, and why he does what he does. Like why does he swoop in like a fucking bald eagle over the guitar part?"

I just love this description. This, as well as the bald eagle soaring over the guitars comment, is about as good a defining of Ed's best moments as exists anywhere.

I've always thought John is a great guitar player, but lately even more so with his ventures into other musical fronts. I thought the trio was a great step foward for him, kinda a big fuck you I don't wanna write wonderland a million times, I wanna do this (insert awsome guitar playing and blues riffs) and the new album lyriclly is pretty good. He writes a lot of "everyday man(or woman)" stuff if that makes sense. I'm rambling, sorry. I would like to see eddie and john colaborate on something though, don't string me up by my balls for that please.

i just like the elton john thing, altough he may be an awesome writer wich i´m not questioning, they can not be compared just by the simple fact that they move around very different music styles.

When an artist I don't like says good things about Pearl Jam, it always makes me feel bad for not liking them. Still doesn't want to make me listen to them, though.

yep... and i think moments like this make you realize that 20, 30, 50 years from now, PJ will be appreciated immensely... much more than they are now

Like him or not, JM is very talented. I happen to like him, those who don't tend to at least respect him. He did a great solo version of Gravity for the Katrina relief concert. GTF was better though.
