I have a voodoo child cover that apparently was performed by PJ. I kind of doubt it is though. The song starts out with what sounds like ED's voice saying "alright, here we go". Then a long intro of feedback. The person singing sounds incredibly like Jimi Hendrix, I just can't imagine it being ed unless it's from an early show. Can anyone verify this?

No thats the one with mike and stone, he's talking about the Ben Harper version. That has nothing to do with Pearl Jam. That's ben harper playing and singing.

It's Ben Harper. Some say that it's Ben Harper & Pearl Jam, but that's bullshit (1% of chance that it's not ;)). It's probably from one of Harper's promo disc - I even once heard it on radio (of course introduced as Pearl Jam  ).

There is Voodoo Chile, which is a 14 min blues epic. There is also Voodoo Child(Slight Return), which is the one being talked about here. It was printed sometimes as Voodoo Chile(Slight Return), it certainly was on SRV's Couldn't Stand the Weather, but I believe that it is a misprint. The issue of Electric Ladyland that I have also has the Voodoo Chile(Slight Return) spelling.

Certainly on all reissues since the Hendrix family got the rights to his music it has had the correct spelling of Voodoo Child(Slight Return).

Ben Harpers version on the bonus disc of The Will to Live kicks all kinds of ass.

I was thinking is was BH, but wasn't sure if this was from an early PJ show. So it's Ben Harper with Stone and Mike?

Fun Fact: That recording is Harper on a lap steel guitar.

I did see Harper perform this song when opening for PJ, though. Charlotte, '96. Awesome.
