Did anyone else get a "Pearl Jam Event" for a $50 gift card from Virgin? Since it came from them, I assumed it was valid, but I ended up quitting after opting out on about 20 screens.

now i fear spam city on an email account i thought was valid. did anyone get this? am i just stupid (invitation)?

yeah, i got that, but the links weren't working so i figured it had been shut down by the band's people.

no i didnt...or maybe i missed it but I did get the same promotion from the QOTSA myspace. its one of those apply for a gazillion prmotions befor eyou get any kind of pay off.

i read about a similar scam on paris hilton's myspace. i'm serious. it's a trick just to get your email account filled with junk.

Yeah, i clicked on it hoping that it was an awesome promotion that the band somehow finagled, and then it had all the info that the pop up windows have and i closed it.

I have one hotmail account which i give out for openning accounts and getting spam and friend's forwards. so the acct gets a good deal of crap in it already. and then i have my regular email address. i figure a lot of people do this, but in case there some who don't, you may want to try doing this.

this is one of the reasons why i dont have a myspace.

i'll confess to another of stupidity. when we did the poster and benaroya auctions last year, I got a phishing email from ebay on the same day as the auctions ended, so i took that bait as well. that one got me into a little more trouble because ebay locked me out (in the end, for my own good) and i had trouble completing the final auction shipments.

computers suck. i wish i never liked them. ok, scrap that. they pay my bills =)
