My mp3 player was on Random, and "Last Soldier" starts playing. It's a song that I love, that I don't listen to enough. When the line towards the start, "on the altar, my picture...will be there while i'm gone", just kinda hit me, and started reminding me of the picture reference in Worldwide Suicide, and led me to think about the two songs, and how (more than likely not on purpose), the two songs feel almost related. Which then got me thinking about the mamasan trilogy, and I started to think of a third song that could go with these two, if there was one...
I came up with this. 1. Army Reserve, 2. Worldwide Suicide, 3. Last Soldier.
So up for discussion, for those who like. 1. Do you think Last Soldier and WWS are possibly long lost brothers of sorts? And 2. If so, what would your trilogy be. I figured a lot of us are going through tour, and new material withdrawl, so I'd try to start something interesting...it's been a while since I've been around.
Cheers!

I could see that... but Last Soldier would come first... it's about a guy who's going off to war and telling people not to worry about him and that it's for a good cause and such... then Army Reserve is the "from home" perspective tha occurs while he's gone... and Worldwide Suicide is after he's been killed.
I agree that's it probably not intentional, but it makes sense to me in that way.

Exactly.

Some interesting thoughts so far... I was considering putting Last Soldier first instead of last, but the way I was feeling the song, was kind of like the dead soldier looking on his own memorial/looking back on his life, from the afterlife. Just my reasoning, and that's another reason why I love this band, you can have a great many ideas/opinions etc on their material, and none is neccessarily right or wrong, but it never fails to give me a new perspecitive on a song.
