I dont really see what the big deal is. If they payed the full price and the DVD is theirs, they are free to do what they will with it. The band is getting their money, and if people are to dumb to look on a bands web page for that kind of stuff then they deserve to pay an inflated price.

he's referring to fan made bootlegs that are sold on ebay. The person gets the discs here for free and then puts em up for auction.

what would you do if you maybe knew someone that is a member of this site that has sold our beloved pj dvd's over the last couple of months on ebay??
should i approach them? don't want to cause a fuss, just want a solution, any help appreciated!
There have been many occasions where posters have created threads to slag off some random guy on ebay for making what they (and I, for that matter) think is an unethical trade.
I tend to ignore these because I see it as a fact of life. Feel free to inform the ebay people about any offers that contravene their guidelines. However, if these threads include a direct personal attack, that will be deemed contrary to rule number 1 here, and we will deal with it.

i don't think that's right, these dvd's are freely distributed through the pj community, the band isn't getting any money out of it & they don't approve of it! The people that do all the hard work preparing these dvd's don't get a cracker either the only people that do are taking money from people who aren't aware of any other way to get these shows. The other thing is that often these ebayr's don't deliver the product that this person that doesn't know any better has payed good money for. And the circle continues...

This thread clearly wasn't created to slag any1 off!
I don't think that it involves or contavenes ebays guidelines .
These threads have no personal attack, unless the newbie stuff in your signature is intended for that. Just wanted some common sense & simple advice because i am a 'newbie'.

If you feel like taking action, send him/her an email telling them that you know about it, give them the chance to take the auctions down, and if they don't, report them if you feel like it. However you know they might change their identifying info, couldn't they?

While I feel this is wrong I think you should find other things to do with this limited time you have on earth. Pearl Jam DVD's being sold on ebay are probably #986,456,234 on my list of things to worry about.

Maybe e-mail the bidders an offer them B&Ps, or at least inform them all that the shows are available for free. Ebay doesn't care if people are selling bootlegs unless the band threatens a lawsuit.

If it is there property, its theres to do with whatever they want. There is no solution; people do whatever they want to; they have to look themselves in the mirror before going to bet and upon rising. It's not your job to point out the obvious to them; they already know. All we can each to is simply NOT BUY stuff that we know the band doesn't want being sold on eBAY. If you want to "police" the situation, simply report auctions as you see them, those that we would believe the band would have "issue" with, to either tenclub.net or eBay or both.
honestly???
the ppl who spend hours of their free time and hundreds of their dollars making DVDs to distribute amongst fans for free and then see someone making effortless profit out of their work and generosity.
the others who SHOULD give a shit are the ones who get these dvds for free just for their enjoyment, who should think that if the ppl who make them feel bad and stop doing them or simply stop distributing them, they won't have bottleg dvds to enjoy, at least not with the same quality standards the pj community has.
There's WAY too many other things in life for me to worry about before I start jumping on the high moral horse that attacks people selling stuff on ebay. Plus, what's the difference between putting something on ebay and selling it at, say, a yard sale or something?
