Pearl Jam's music has never let me down. I think this next album is going to be something special. They are off the Sony contract now to. I think it may be a little more radio friendly, just enough to draw new fans in, but keep us happy as well. I can't wait!

Pearl Jam will have the better album once again, but U2 will outsell them by a large margin. Pearl jam can not compete with U2's willingness to whore themselves out to whoever will give them the $$ or exposure. Superbowl halftime? now it's apples i-pod. U2 continues to disappoint me with lacklustre music.

It'll easily be way better than U2. I basically think so because I'm not too much of a U2 fan. I like about 10-12 songs of them, but especially for the new stuff they bring out I don't care a lot.

Gotta go with the U2. They are the biggest band in the world. I'm sure PJ will have the better record tho. The recent U2's have been most disapointing.

Yeah i'm going to lean towards PJ too. Mainly cuz i've never seen the obsession with U2. They're mediocre at best. <--Not trying to start shit, just how how i feel 8)

I don't think it's a competition, and it all depends on the music you listen to and enjoy. I certainly hope Pearl Jam's next album is better than U2's, because in my personal opinion PJ would have to fall very far to get below U2's level. But I'm sure others have differing views. To each his own.

Pearl Jam all the way man. I too have a good feeling about the new record. I said that for Riot Act but this one, I feel, is going to be amazing.

Man, I totally agree with you. For years U2 was easily my favorite band, but it's sad how far they will go to, in Bono's words, stay "relevant". They are becoming so predictable...an album every 4 years, release first single 2 months before album, plat TOTP and all these horrible music shows, tour, act like a bull during Until the End of the World.
This being said, I will buy the new album and go see the show. But how I miss U2 pre-1995.

Now, Pearl Jam keeps me on my toes! You never know when they might play a show, release a new single, etc. They don't cater to the masses or the media. The music is consistently great......damn I love those guys!!!

i totally agree..the best u2 song is as good as the 20th best pj song..i mean u2 is ok but people make them out to be some mega-group..

pjs new one will be 50x better especially if that stupid song where they sing in spanish is on the new u2..the one where bono goes "yeah yeah yeah yeah"..is bono trying to sound like jet with that line..every tiime i see that commercial i laugh at how bad that song is..

i like U2 they make great music that is easily accessibly by people all over the world. They are a super goup and do a good job of filling that role.

Let's face it Eddie and PJ couldn't do the high profile shit bono and U2 do so they don't. I think PJ writes better songs that are a bit tougher to get to the bottom of.

but LBC could be a U2 song, still like it but it's cliche

I haven't dug much of anything anything from U2 since Zooropa, but have you guys heard the new single, Vertigo...? Its suprisingly good. Im actually kind of anxious to here this album.

The press they've done says its gonna be a guitar record, somewhat ramones influenced.

I love both bands but this is so very true.

The new album needs to be a mixture of Vitalogy, Binaural, and No Code. Period.
