I didnt know where to put this, so I made a thread, if a mod wants to add it to another thread go right ahead.

Who plays the lead guitar on Peace and Love from Mirror Ball? Uncle Neil or McCready?

I recall seeing a number of those threads back in 2002 - 2003ish after Riot Act came out.

Neil.

The best part of this song is the keyboard just before ed starts singing.

I kind of figured it was Neil as it was his album and he just owns the world, but I wasnt sure. Agree with everyone that said the best part is the keyboards and Ed's verse towards the end. By far my favorite song on Mirror Ball. It sounded like it was possible that it was Mike though, so I figured I'd ask.

I may be wrong, but I think the only song where Mike has a significant solo on that album is Scenery.

Just listened to the song. It is clearly Neil on lead, mixed slightly right of center. There is at least one other electric in the background, and I thought I heard an acoustic at a few points, but the production on this album is so muddy that it's hard to hear distinct instruments clearly, especially two guitars.

There's definitely an acoustic in there, I can hear it clearly early on in the song.

This song dosent get enough love or discussion around here.

Those are mikes leads on Downtown.

neils leads are clearly distinctive on the record as they sound just like all of neils leads throughout his career. Like an amp on the verge of exploding and killing everyone, and Mike's leads...well are always the same basically.

in fact, i wouldn't be surprised if it was Stone playing lead on Downtown.

I really wouldn't mind it if Eddie Vedder closed out the last performance of his career with this song and Neil coming onstage. It'd be a nice farewell to a great career. I hope it doesn't happen for about 20 years though.

I'd settle for them doing it anytime.
