I'd love MP3's of the two Fan Club songs from '03:
Reach Down (live) I Believe in Miracles (live)
Any ideas?
x-mas singles are always okay to ask for

why? i think its copyrighted music
Nope! Not a trace of it on the new one.
That means that Santa God is up for grabs.

a good rule of thumb is whether or not it is available for purchase at this time.

doesn't that mean it would be okay to ask for or to post links to leaked songs/albums ?
another good rule of thumb is that if it is something that is soon to be relased for commerical sale it is also not okay.
But the best rule of thumb is, could Buggy get in trouble for allowing this stuff to be traded, etc on the website. If you're ever not sure, just pm a mod before you post it. If we say yes and it turns out we're wrong you'll have your ass covered.

I think by leaked he meant Lost Dogs Demos-type rather than pre-release leaks like for S/T..
and I think direct links / begging for that were banned from here if I recall..
all this is really grey since Videotaping is not allowed by PJ yet they don't seem to care about the DVD trading... in the last year, they even stopped removing Youtube links-threads (they deleted one I put fo r MY videos back in 2006) and there's plain view DVD trading on the ex-basecamp part of Synergy (beside the fact they've long known about Youkan and Jamriver and no action has been made against them afaik..not for a while anyway)
_________________ 2009 was a great year for PJ gigs looking forward to 2010 and: Columbus, Noblesville, Cleveland, Buffalo, Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen, Berlin, Arras, Werchter, Lisbon, some more US (wherever is the Anniversary show/a birthday show)
... in the last year, they even stopped removing Youtube links-threads and there's plain view DVD trading on the ex-basecamp part of Synergy (beside the fact they've long known about Youkan and Jamriver and no action has been made against them afaik..not for a while anyway)
I am very grateful to them for this because it allows an instant thrill and pumps up the fans. It's also helpful when discussing songs. : )
And it's very smart. Youtube doesn't cost them anything. It's free advertisement for upcoming shows, fandom involvement (legit merchandise), and builds excitement. Not everyone knows where to go for what, but EVERYONE knows about Youtube. By allowing Youkan to exist they enable Youtude to be fed material at no cost.
It's really smart.
Bands and labels pulling stuff down from youtude is mind-bogglingly stupid.
ps. Fan tapers & video creators who don't allow torrents or posting to Youtube aren't protecting anything unless higher quality vids exist of the same show (a good reason to prevent distribution). They're hurting the band and fan community. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I understand the rationale for not wanting degraded quality "out there", but Youtube is a reality and 10s of millions use that site. Denying them the ability to see the best video available (they aren't going to find it in a store, trading is a PIA, and torrents are beyond the technical capability of many) isn't right. Not allowing torrents is... well that's just... ugh

You're right. Youtube is one form of modern promotion in music.

It's made TV irrelevant. I can't wait till they upgrade to higher quality.

I doubt they will. Low quality is like an informal protection of copyright of sorts.

It is going higher quality. What is allowed to stay up there in that format is questionable but it will change.
