Faithful vs Marker -- damn that's tough. I went with Faithful. I think Marker's lyrics are better, but damnit if Faithful doesn't have some of the coolest music ever recorded.

wtf???? no given to fly???? the crucifiction and rise again thingie :? well thats what I get from it

but first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed
by faceless men, well fuckers...he still stands
and he still gives his love, he just gives it away;
the love he recieves is the love that is saved
and sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky
a human being that was given to fly...

Given To Fly uses religious imagery, but that doesn't make it a religious song, since that's not what it is about (at least to me). Still, that's not a crazy read.

Although Faithfull is an amazing song musically and lyrically, Marker just happens to be the best song ever written. By anybody. EVER.

That's a bit of a stretch, but I respect your opinion even if I strongly disagree.

Marker vs Faithfull is such a close call. In the end Faithful gets the nod, the music and melody giving it the few extra yards needed. Marker has great lyrics (which I realised I hadn't "gotten" 100% before reading this thread & backtracking throuh "a guided tour through Pearl Jam"). However, Faithfull rings special to, not sure why... Both top-notch songs!
