So what do you guys think about Stone solos? Personally i'm a big fan as I can actually find some of Mike's to be tiresome. I actually think Stone's are a little more interesting.

A little?? Stone's work on songs like Even Flow and Porch are often really subtle but almost always fit. There above and beyond the Hendrix-esque wankings of Mike. But hey, if could play like Mike, I'd do that too.

I love them. His long ass solo during RITFW at Pittsburg this tour was amazing!

Last tour at the Atlanta gig Stone pretty much took over the solo during Porch it was amazing.

The only thing that's better than his solos is his face during one.

I think Matts drum solos outshine Stones' solos.

There is nothing more boring than a drum solo.

I could continue......................

Stone's groove is in lock step with Matt and Jeff. They all three work together so well.

My first notice of Stone was NFY back in 98 but most recently his building style at the end of songs like RITFW and Fuckin' Up. Also that dark shit he does during Even Flow makes the song for me. Stone rocks.

I tend to like Mike's more, but he is great on F'ing up and RITFW.

Which songs are the ones he solos on? I don't watch many of the dvds and you can't always tell from audio.

Zephyr, Matt's drum solos are boring as hell. They're ruining even flow for me.

Matt's drum solos are like a breath of fresh air in a PJ show, he actually needs to do more of them

Evolution for sure...and I'm guessing rival by sound only.... (Only got Rival once in cincy 2000, cant remember... but it sounds like a "structured" stone solo.)

I'm actually kinda letdown on Matts solo's.... just kind a expect something more intence.

Off the top of my head, Stone solos on the above mentioned, plus Not For You, Brain of J, Do The Evolution and a couple more I'll remember when my brain isn't so fried.

i'd rather listen to mike when he's on fire, but stone has always been the riff master, although the best fuckin' up i've heard in forever was in d.c. at the end of may when stone took the lead and they seemed to jam it out a bit. i just remember his solo going on for quite a while. when his evolution solos are really on, they hold up well against some of mike's best leads.

NFY, DTE, MFC, Rats, Sonic Reducer, Save You

And on the 95 tour he occasionally solo'd on Corduroy before it became a mike solo..

Stone's solos make some songs for me. He is definitely the groovemaster.
