Wishlist seems to me to be a song about wanting to be in love but not actually being in a relationship at the moment, rather wanting to be able to share yourself and your time with someone but not having that chance at the moment.

I like the angle stip took on smile but I dont think its purely a love song in the traditional sense.

I'd agree to a point. But that's kind of what I like about Smile -- it never comes out and says "oh I love you baby and I'm gonna miss you." It's got an undercurrent of 2 loves being separated. The lines about 3 crooked heart swirls is what cements the idea of it being a love song for me.

Could you explain me that line, please? I always wondered, but my English knowledge is a bit insufficient I'm afraid... I understand the words but don't understand the sentence.

I've always perceived the line as one lover writing a note to the other, and on the note, the writer draws three hearts that are crooked and sloppy, but the sentiment of love is there despite the artistic imperfections. Make sense?

that's how I've taken it too. Someone writing a love note or absentmindly doodling while they think about the person, so the hearts are imperfect.

I always thought it sounded like "three cookie dough swirls all around"

Could be. Maybe the person writing the note is a baker?
