Will the boys bother releasing a single after 'Gone'. I say why the hell not? 'Come Back' all the way, baby. Or 'Marker In The Sand'. But I think 'Come Back' would appeal to a broader demographic.

No. The sticker only listed three tracks and while Life Wasted didn't blow up the charts, Gone never stood a chance. The promotion for Avocado is over with.

IF they get another out (Justin, Riot Act had 3 singles so this one could have 4) it'll be Come Back

Record companies don't always follow what's printed on those stickers to a tee. I've seen several albums where the potential singles on the sticker aren't even released. J Records may still want to push another single. How cool would it be if the band released a live performance of 'Come Back' from one of their shows as a video? It would have the fire of the 'Evenflow' cut all over again, but be considerably better in the song quality department.

Unless they were to release a B side, what would be the point?

Was their last single even played much? I don't think it would be worth the effort. The whole radio play based on singles is pretty stupid anyway, fuck radio stations! :x

It's easy to say "fuck radiostations", but they can be of value if you want to get your music out to the masses. Sometimes it's a matter of the right place, right time. Sometimes it's luck. Sometimes the marketing has to be pushed to the absolute limit. In PJ's case, I know they don't want to be as huge as they were in the early '90s. But I'd love to see Avocado get back into the public consciousness because it's so deserving of more success. It's a great album from a great band who continues to be making a name for themselves professionally and artistically.

I'm not sure Epic knew that 'Betterman' would've become the huge success that it did in late '94, early '95 when VITALOGY was released. You just never know what song will connect with the masses. 'Come Back' could be the next 'Betterman' if the right stars align.

I would be shocked if any of the other songs released fares any better than the last single. The musical climate now is much different than in 94 and 95, I don't think anything Pearl Jam has done could ever become as successful as their earlier work.

Come Back was a B-side already for Gone.

My dreams have been shattered!

Ok, I'm ready to pimp up 'Marker In The Sand'.

Speaking as a member of the radio community (I work at a station) I can say unequivocally that, yes, we do indeed suck!

The singles listed on the cd sticker are just to entice to buy, nothing else

It's entirely possible J records will release another single, though I don't know which one

pearl jam is very much like Iraq
questionable initial success that was at best very short lived
then a series of failures

it is time the band cut and run

what a disaster

we are all scarred for life
