Any of you guys think Matt will leave Pearl Jam and get back together with Soundgarden? Now that AudioSlave is broken up and Rage is back together (indefinately, from what I hear).

Has Matt ever talked about the breakup of soundgarden? Was there more he felt they could still accomplish as a band, or did he think the time was right?

he said something about how "creatively, we were still fertile, but interpersonally we just couldn't do it anymore"

There was a similar thread not too long ago. Chris Cornell has been adament about his desire to be a solo artist for the foreseeable future. Specifically, he said, "I think at this point in my life I'm a person that probably shouldn't be in a band. Someone that writes songs as much as me and has the energy and focus in terms of songwriting and performing is probably someone who's more akin to a solo artist than someone who should be in a band."
And I don't understand why people keep suggesting a Soundgarden reunion when there is absolutely nothing to suggest it is even remotely possible. As I posted before, here is what Chris said about Soundgarden:
"I haven't received any phone calls from anyone in Soundgarden about a reunion since we broke up, nor have I called anyone. We were happy with how it ended. There was no unfinished business. Soundgarden wasn't a band where we broke up and everyone was like, 'I'm never fucking talking to you again.' It wasn't like that. We've all talked to each other many times since then. Its something we don't feel we need to do."

and Dave A??? Never in 1,000 years. Eddie was the reason he was fired in the first place.....but besides....think about it.....Matt C. enjoys more creative control in Pearl Jam than Cornell would ever give him.

Why are we always asking about Matt C. leaving PJ for SG reunion when it seems clear that cornell is not interested in a reunion? and i'm sure cameron is pretty happy where he is right now...

Will a SG reunion stave off his death?
