I work in an industry where most of my time is spent in a vehicle, on the road. I have an Ipod hooked up and I usually have it filled with a bunch of PJ and random other stuff. Well, when I am training a rookie I try to accomadate and I ask what kind of music they listen to. I have a diverse library so I can usually come up with a good mix that we both will enjoy. Regardless, PJ will still occupy about 10% of the playlist. The rookie that I'm training now is a very "mainstream" music listener, so I put some well known PJ songs mixed in with a couple from Avocado, but we still only heard a PJ song about once an hour. Here comes the cool part.....
Last night we were driving around and about 3 hours into the shift Unemployable started and the rookie looks over at me and says, "I Love this fucking song!!" My response was, "How do you know this fucking song?" He said that he was talking with his girlfriend about Pearl Jam because he has been listening to them while he was riding with me. He said that they then went to the music store to try and find some PJ to buy. However, they weren't sure which album to get. He said Avocado was the coolest looking album cover that they saw so they picked that one. They listened to the album together and discussed the songs and the lyrics, and he said that Unemployable was his favorite song off of the album so far, and he can't stop listening to it. I laughed my ass off and listened to Unemployable a few more times with a brand new PJ Fan

p.s. Unemployable is a damn fine song! Screw all your bastards who are putting down Advocado. It's the best since Yield! Not to mention I'm eating 3 times more advocados now because they just seem so much cooler!!

indeed, when I played the new album for my friend Danny when we were on our way to the show in 06 this was the song he said stood out the most.

Nice story. Your approach was perfect by not trying force feed PJ to the guy but instead letting him have a few bites here and there so he could develop his own opinion.
