This is a very heartfelt and eloquently written letter. I commend you for the effort.
On a very minor point, Americans would spell multinational with an "i" rather than a "y".
While I wish the the best of luck, please don't get your hopes up. I think the closest the band ever came to Isreal was the show in Istanbul 11 years ago and I am still scratching my head over how that one got scheduled.
As I was trying to explain in another thread, touring is a business and bands don't schedule shows to lose money. Any show in Isreal would likely be tantamount to the band paying thier own money to play for you and that is just not how it works.

Thank you for your support, however, how could you explain with that theory, how U-2, Sting, Roger Walters, Radiohead, Michael Jackson, Madonna, incubus and many many others have scheduled or appeared already in Israel? From the business standpoint, it is possible to work through, you'd be surprised to see the crowds that turn up - and people in Israel are businessmen too, just like in New York or any other western place you know.

Pearl Jam has played in Israel (they left Eddie at home).

With the exception of Incuubus, all of the performers you listed live in Europe. (Michael Jackson actually lives in Bahrain). Seattle is like 7000 miles from Isreal!
Besides that, whether or not the band plays a show in a city depends on the geographic relationship to the rest of the stops on the tour. I realize the band played Greece in 2006 but I think that is still like 800 miles away from you. If Isreal was going to get a show I think it would have been the 2006 tour or this new 2007 tour.
Historically, the band only hits the Eurpoean region once every four or five years. Even then shows in Eastern Europe and surrounding regions are rare which does not bode well for any chance of an Isreal show in the future. Who knows if the band will be together in 5 years?

Well, the Jewish community has undergone unimaginable things in the past 100 years, things no one would have believed could occur. If someone in the band has strong feelings toward Israel for some political reason, or other, it could happen. Not everything is clear-cut logical. Israel is the land of faith, after all. I believe PJ will perform here some day.

Y'know, I remember hearing ages ago that one of the members of PJ (I think it might have been Stone) really did not want to go to Israel for some apparent reason...

Then again, I could be talking shite.
He really might have said that, but we don't mind trying and hoping... nothing bad can come out of it.
TW - good luck, I hope they will play the northeast soon...

that's fine, we're not saying that everything's perfect and great around here.. there's trouble here as well as the rest of the world, including (and maybe especially in) the US.
we choose to stay positive and high spirited inspite of all that.
if you're willing to help us by signing the petition - we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, if not - good luck with everything, we'll keep on trying...
