So tonight I was speaking to this girl who I have been somewhat friends with for a few years now and we were talking about the possibility of a PJ show at Fenway this summer, she knows I like them but not the fact that I have 500+ bootlegs, and dont listen to any other music, and shes like yea.. did i ever tell you that PJ was the first concert I ever went to?I was like no way.. where'd you see them, she goes on to causally tell me that she watched the 96 Hartford show from the side of the stage because Jack Irons is her cousin. I was like are you kidding me? she didnt understand why i thought that was crazy. Shes not lying either, she has not reason to, and she was telling me details about him leaving the band that have never been made public... pretty nuts.. anyways that story made my night... thought i'd share

why would you hide from a friend of so long that you're obsessed with PJ?
I have a bunch of friends that know I'm overly obsessed, and we joke about it all the time...trust me, it's fun.

Great story. I can totally related because I had a very similar experience with a good friend and this band. I advise you not to publicly disclose anything she said about Jack if she told it to you in confidence. That would not be cool.

I once had a message on soulseek from a kid who was friend and in a band with Jack Irons son. He thought it was funny I shared Jack's album.

other than the dudes who spoke to him outside Santa Barbara Bowl 2003, there is unfortunately very little about his departure, and it's always been of interest to me given how abrupt it seemed, much less the cryptic allusions on SVT about him leaving

other than the dudes who spoke to him outside Santa Barbara Bowl 2003, there is unfortunately very little about his departure, and it's always been of interest to me given how abrupt it seemed, much less the cryptic allusions on SVT about him leaving
