I have the opportunity to buy this for 250 dollars.

What should I do? Is it worth it?

Worth is in the eye of the beholder. Only you can answer this question.

ok, lets put it this way. If it was put up on ebay. What do you think it would go for?

Blowjobs are for free.

I think it was too expensive.

That's sorta Cultivate The Tour CD, rare but not that bunch of money.

Enjoy what? If this is what I think it is, the "promo" is nothing more than a cd with a single track which contains the widely available studio cut of State of Love and Trust.

I wouldn't pay $5 for it. Its a radio promo disc and it doesn't even have cool artwork.

You are crazy if you pay $250 for that.

You should buy it if you kept your toys in their original packaging as a kid.

Do you know how much original vinyls of Nirvana's Love Buzz go for on ebay? 2 tracks: Love Buzz and Big Cheese.

Anywhere between $600-$1100.

For some people, it's the "collectors value" that puts the heavy price on it.

Another example is bootleg cds. Even when cdrs became available, people still wanted to pay $25 for a bootleg cd just because of the rare collectors value, as well asthe fact that it's the original and not a copy. I used to buy into that stuff myself.

Dude, there is a huge difference between the very first ever Nirvanna release (on 7 inch vynil) and this cheap radio promo CD. Love Buzz contains original cover art and they are hand numbered. Plus it has historic value. I agree that Love Buzz is a gem.
This SOLAT promo is junk. Well, not junk really. I agree it has value. But if I remember correctly, the cd is packaged in a slim case with nothing more than an sticker on the front. There may be some obsessive completists who would pay some money for it but I would love to see any evidence that it has a resale value approaching anything close to $250.

Thanks for all the feedback! I was under the impression that this was one of the rarer promos out there, along with the black promo.

Anyways, Im glad I decided to hear with you guys before I did anything drastic. Thank you all!

Now I can go to sleep:-)

You know what, I think I overspoke a little. It IS rare in the since that there are not a lot of them floating around. It may be in the same realm as the Black promo, which I know can sell for as much as $150.

I did some quick research and I was wrong about teh packaging. It is not just a sticker. Here is the complete layout: http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=188

Still, I just think there are very people who would pay significant amounts of money for these types of items. I think you shoudl save your money unless you have strong personal reasons for wanting it. As an "investment" I still feel it is a waste. If you want to "invest" in PJ memorabalia then buy posters.

The SOLAT promo comes up on ebay about as often as the Freak promo does. Either it's very scarce, or people just don't want to give it up.
