im not saying this is absolutely true... but i know that pearl jam was in talks with the organizers at Downsview Park, as they wanted to have a concert there at the end of the summer, and for whatever reasons, they could not reach a deal... so perhaps this is their backup plan.
Probably some asshole at the Genesis board trying to be funny.
I'm not sure if I undestood the context correctly but Genesis reunited for real. Or actually almost reunited as Peter Gabriel said no. Anyway, Collins and company will play in Chorzow in Poland, a week after Pearl Jam. So the reunion tour in America is quite possible thing to happen.

This is what it says, now:

Planned for September 20 will be a grunge era reunion with Seattle rockers Pearl Jam performing with reunited members of Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Sir Mix Alot.
If Torontonians think they are getting their 'Annual' PJ show this year, they can forget about it. It's about as likely to happen as the Leafs ever winning a Stanley Cup!
p.s. The Habs kicked your lame asses again this weekend. It's going to be nice to knock you outta the playoffs yet again!

we're not that far from "...with a special guest appearance from Jesus!"
