You are Stone Gossard. One of your band members has become an incredible pain in the ass. The others agree that someone must go...so you move to fire...Ed.
There's plenty of talent left here, but is this a viable scenario?
Do you go ahead and release Vitalogy without Stupid Mop? Do you woo Scott Weiland away from the Stone Temple Pilots? Do you recruit a young Scott Stapp? Do you go for a higher tenor sound, more along the lines of Andy Wood?
And what does Ed do? Sell tapes out of his house? Release a solo yukelele album? Move to Paris with Chris Cornell?
