Apologies if this has been done before.
I'd like to know what is your favourite Pearl Jam song and (if there is a difference) which one you consider to be the "best". I ask this because my favourite (Even Flow) is not the song which I consider to be the best (Immortality). Lyrically, EF is subpar compared to Immortality; musically, I'd rate them about the same (although I'll admit Immortality is more interesting in that sphere).
I'm just interested to see if any other RMers have this distinction between favourite and "best". What constitutes the "best" PJ song I leave up to you.

I absolutely do, and I'm glad that someone else around here can get over themselves enough to see that there IS a difference between personal preference and objective quality.
That said, I'm also very glad to say that I share teh same favorite song, and that same song that I consider the objective best as you. So obviously, we're right.

Favorite: Alive Best: Corduroy or Immortality
For a long while (10+ years) Corduroy was both my favorite and what I thought was their best, although I've grown to love alive more since then thanks to the remix and the fact that it is such a stronger song live these days than corduroy. But lyrically Alive can't touch either corduroy or immortaltiy, and both are more interesting musically (even though neither one has any moment as glorious as the end of alive)

I listed In My Tree as their best, but I really can't argue with Corduroy or Immortality. They're both terrific songs. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Immortality, though.
