I'm not sure about a database on who exactly plays on what song. But given how self-indulgent of an Ed song Stupid Mop is, it wouldn't surprise me if he laid down all the guitar tracks.

thanks! those two theories together make sense...i kinda like it in the same way as i like The Beatles Revolution#9. i think, PJ aside, that it's a really fulfilled experimental track, meaning that it asks for some kind of visceral response from the listener - i agree it's not everyone's cup of tea - neither are John Cage or Stockhausen, but considering it was a deliberate track, not a hidden one or a Lost Dog, i thought it might be interresting to hear about it objectively.

I'm not sure that I would call this a song, but I also find it mesmerizing. I don't listen to it all of the time, but I'm glad it's there.
I agree with dkfan9; it is a riveting ending. After the turmoil we've visited earlier in the album, it is an interesting pairing with IMMORTALITY. IMMORTALITY gives you the possibility of choice in how you deal with this turmoil. STUPID MOP takes choice away from you. Sometimes rational thought is the thing that does not survive the pressures of the lives we live.
