Since Yield seems to be the consensus best Pearl Jam album (at least on this board), I was curious to know if anyone else has tried playing the songs from that album in the order they are presented in the booklet:

1. MFC
2. Push Me Pull Me
3. Do the Evolution
4. Faithfull
5. Brain of J
6. Low Light
7. Wishlist
8. Given To Fly
9. In Hiding
10. Pilate
11. No Way
12. The Colour Red
13. All Those Yesterdays

If you haven't tried it, go for it, and post how it changes the listening experience of the album for you.

Side note: Pilate = most underappreciated Pearl Jam song. Pilate in '06!

I'm just skinning up, then I'll be ready to try this.

You, sir, are a fucking genius. This is just the kind of group hug PJ Chat needs after the leak debacle.

It's definitely a different experience. I've tried it before, and now I'm at "Pilate". I think it gives "The Colour Red" more of an "Arc"/"Soon Forget" kind of placement.

Created playlist on iTunes "A Different Yield". You expect a certain sequence so its really weird you listen to an album out of sequence like this.. in fact, one thing it does it make you listen to push me, pull me. ussualy i just stop the album before the last 2 tracks. (not a fan).

You're right. It gives "Push Me Pull Me" a lot more prominence.

Yield the best? How did you reach that conclusion? Was there a poll I missed?

i've tried this type of mix with many cd's,
it usually seems to work well,
also, try to put all your favorites first,
or put all the fast/hard songs first,

any other album re-tracked idea's (please post tracklists too)?

I still have to try some of the great binaural ideas from the binaural problems threads but this one sounds like fun too.

How does it stack up to the original tracklist for you?

does anyone know why they presented the yield lyrics out of order? They've never really done that before or after.
