Stip, If you think this post should be merged with the main thread, feel free to do it man.
So, i finally got the DVD, great prince, specially considering the long travel from the american northwest to the brazilian northeast.
I was very curious about the mix, since it was their first dvd produced by some very professional dudes. The image quality is really superb, and not only compared to the other grainy pj dvds. It made me feel happy about my LG plasma.
About the sound mix...Without a doubt Matt is the better sounding member on this dvd. He sounds powerful, focused, punchy, detailed, downright awesome. Jeff sounds good too, specially when he uses his Modulus Jazz (that yellow one with lots of sticks). But I found the guitars lacking, mainly Mike that sounds thin, weak. I've never liked the tone of that yellow single pickup guitar he likes to use so much now, extremely thin sounding. Stone lacks some "meat" too, but not as much as Mike.
And now Eddie's voice...oh the polemic. His voice isnt the same anymore and im almost sure smoking is the main factor. He stills sound great, but his was much more layered then, like a true barithone, cello-like. His voice now lacks those layers, and when he tries to sing the high notes, sounds a bit scratchy. Stop smoking, fucker!

Au contraire.
Well, Stone sounds good, much better than Mike, but even Ed guitar sounded better than Mike.

Dude, this is so good. Really. Seriously. It's the best they've made. The edits are great. There are fantastic moments. I'm not going to spoil it for you but this is a must have.

I wish dvd's like this gave you an option to watch just the music component. I find it very irratating to be cranking a song then to have it end and be followed by the blaring of background noise or someone talking. It would be such a simple menu option for the publisher to make.

That would be a good idea, although i like the segments inbetween but you do not feel the need to watch them over and over again unlike the songs.
