New DNA testing by the defense shows that none of the genetic material recovered from the murder scene links Echols, Baldwin, or Misskelley to the scene. Instead, defense attorneys say, the tests found DNA from Terry Hobbs, the stepfather of one of the murdered boys.

Even before DNA testing, hindsight always pointed to the stepfather so this doesn't come as a huge shock.
I also remember hearing about some tweaked-out guy walking into a conveninence store (or local restaurant?) covered in blood shortly after the murder. I wonder what ever came of that?

i thought id let you guys know, this is pearl jam related in 2 ways. we all know they've donated money to the WM3 and ed has gone out of his way to raise awareness. on the 2006 tour they donted $1 from every ticket sold to various causes around the country. when they were in philly on 5/27 they donted to this place

From what I remember, the burden of DNA testing fell on the defense, and since it's such an expensive procedure, it took them a while to get it done. PJ's profits from the 9/28/04 Boston show went to this testing, if what Ed said on stage was true. If this eventually proves their innocence, I am glad it helped.

If this is true, good on them.
The whole WM3 thing is beyond rediculous...it's completely sick that three people can be wrongly imprisoned and lose so many years of life after such a weak case.
I'm really proud for Ed and PJ contributing the amounts they have to the WM3 cause.
