this is the first PJ album that i felt half-baked, on which Ed didn't put all his heart in the singing department and Evacuation, Thin Air and Rival bring down the album as a whole a few notch. sure, there are some awesome songs on it but the production is spotty at best and it's too bad. Binaural is wayyy overrated among the PJ community. in the real world, it's really not that good an album, folks.

it was in a car and i couldn't focus my attention on the album as much as i wanted to - i heard Parting Ways in the music store before i bought it and i was really pumped for this album. on the subsequent months i listened to it A LOT and it strenghtened my first impression that i loved many songs on it but that it wasn't a well-flowing album for me.

i remember buying the single to this album and having a hour drive home from where i bought the single. Having already heard NAIS once or twice b4 the release i was totally stuck on Insignificance . It was so powerful and it had a nice drive to the song thanks to jeff . One of my fav Pj songs because of how the lyrics playout with the tempo of the song. Pure excellence

binaural was the 1st cd, (not counting merkinball) that i purchased, the previous being cassettes, heh, yeah easier for car stereo
actually back in may 2000 i didn't have a real cd player, i had a discman running to turntable/tape deck, I remember it playin when i got to the record store, i think it was 'of the girl'
on the way home i remember thinkin ' this is it, montreal sold out too quick last time, im seeing them this tour and most of these songs are goin to be played!!' sadly i wouldnt get to a show until 2003
i sat on my carpet admiring the booklet, the photos, as the tunes blasted away, god's dice(tellin my drummer friend "we gotta jam that second track!)& of the girl really sticking out, as well as n.a.i.s. & insignificance from the cd single i heard from (drummer)friend's house
as the lovely trio of ending songs began i remember lying down, as i was quite the insomniac workin early mornings those days, sort of semi-concious in a wonderful musical daze and from out of nowhere that fuckin typing scaring the shit out of me as the cd grinded to a halt
