Using only Pearl Jam tunes.

I had this idea, from the CD Mix tournament. I thought it possibly could work, and I was thinking I need to make another Mix of Pearl Jam, since I hadn't for a long time (besides the backup mix tape I did for Frank for the CD Mix tournament).

But my Idea was to make a Pearl Jam CD Mix for your life, it would be 11 or 12 tracks long.

and it would be setup like a concept album, ala 1st track would be BIRTH and last track would be DEATH.

Example:
1. Birth Track
2. Toddler/Pre-school Track
3. Elementary school Track
4. Jr. High / Middle School Track
5. High School Track
6. University Track
7. 20s Track
8. 30-Something Track
9. Mid-Life Crisis Track
10. Retirement Track
11. Death Track
12. After-Life Track

Go for it RM, show me whatcha got.

:shake:

Nope.

I made a 20 track one.

1. Faithful (Birth, parents full of faith after my birth and after the tragedy of their first child not making it a year, some kind of illness, I can't remember what.)

2. You Are (Toddler/Preschool years, I was also toying around with Who You Are. Just thinking that at this age you just do pretty much what ever and the consequences are usually non existent because most of the time the things you do are just too laughable that the adults just laugh at you.)

3. Even Flow (Elementary School. Getting into the flow of learning what is life and how you've began your life)

4. Jeremy (Jr. High, this is the first song I heard of Pearl Jam, and it's written about people around the same again as teenagers)

5. Education (High School, really do I have to explain, it's education)

6. Off He Goes (After High School, thought it's time to get going and start the world and we could party and such, but then my best friend goes on a mission for the church and leaves me all alone. This song actually hits me pretty hard, deep feelings in this one for me.)

7. All Night (Turns 21, gets to go out and party and drink ALL NIGHT LONG)

8. MFC (Okay Party scene is just about over its mid 20s and its just not what it use to, you need to look into the future and speed into real life)

9. Alive (You in the workforce, just being a workaholic, but your party buddies want you to party. This song is just saying that I need to go out and party so that they know that I'm still ALIVE.)

10. Drifting (What did I saying that I need to party every once in a while because I'm neglecting my friends and stuff. Well, I'm just drifting along my path of being a workaholic.)

11. Thin Air (It's time to find that LOVED ONE, self explanatory.)

12. Unemployable (I am currently unemployed because I got feed up with my bosses, coworkers and such, and I just felt it wasn't worth it the commute, co-workers, etc.)

13. Do the Evolution (It's just evolution, you do one thing for a while, then you learn from your mistakes and just get old and do another thing, it's a cycle)

14. Around the Bend (What is up next for me a 31 year old?)

15. Smile (It's okay to remember the past and the good times you hard, keep smiling there'll be other things to keep you smiling)

16. Present Tense (But you can remember the past, but don't live there, there are more things in the fture to keep you smiling)

17. All Those Yesterdays (It's time to be on your deathbed, all you got with you know is your memories, not much memories can be made in your future, so relive the past ones.)

18. Garden (It's time to get planted in that Garden of Stone)

19. Man of the Hour (Others recount the memories that they had with you, like Track 17 was you reliving your memories, this track is others reliving the memories that they had with you)

20. Immortality (And you are now dead, it doesn't mean that your life is dead, you still live on within the people you've met and shared your memories with.)

Okay, I'm actually gonna try to do this.
1. Comatose
2. In My Tree
3. Light Years
4. Leash
5. Why Go
6. Can't Keep
7. Dissident
8. Thin Air
9. Life Wasted
10. Off He Goes
11. Oceans
12. Come Back

Any good?

This isn't really about my life, but it's about "a life".

It's about LIFE, and so it's good.

You are the one putting the mix together, so it should really only have to impress yourself.

Awesome idea, Rick. Having wrecked my brain trying to find a tracklisting I like for the tourney, this is tough right now, but I'm gonna give it a shot real soon. One problem I'll run into is that Pearl Jam doesn't have any songs about sticking your thumb up a girl's ass, and that is a very big and important part of my life so far.

The closest I've come up with thus far is "Thumbing My Way."

All I can think of right now for myself is Country Feedback by R.E.M. 'crazy what she could have been'... but I like the idea and the lists, so far.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

I don't have time for this right now but I'm looking forward to seeing what other people come up with. Like Mirella, I may try and expand this out a bit to non-PJ tracks but we'll see.'

I like how Rick included why he chose the tracks he did. Makes for better reading

Nice thread
