didnt see a thread for this. this is from Metallica...

Does two acoustic gigs in our hometown mean that we're sick of the studio again? Nah . . . not really . . . but we are honored that we have been invited to appear at the annual Bridge School Benefit concerts. Held on October 27 and 28, 2007 at Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View, CA, this will be our second time participating in the all acoustic shows, and the 21st year that the benefit has been held in the Bay Area.

As usual, the line-up is stellar and we're looking forward to seeing Tom Waits, Eddie Vedder (with Flea & Jack Irons), John Mayer, of course Neil Young, and others perform those days. Tickets are on sale this Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM and for more details, please see the official press release below.

Wow, that's fucking awesome. I can't wait to see those setlists. If Ed sings a RHCP song I think I'll shit myself.

checkout the Hullabaloo setlist. it will probably be very similar.

i'm excited to hear Metallica back at Bridge as well.

This is why i wish i lived in America :(

Is there any chance of an Ed and Tom Waits collaboration?

I know we can probably expect an Ed and Neil collaboration, but Ed and Tom would make me so excited. I know Eddie is obsessed with Tom, but i don't remember ever reading anything that suggested that they had ever met/spoke/performed together (though i'm aware they've both played the BSB in the same year).

There has never been any indication that Tom Waits cares about Eddie or his music so it would be tough to say but I think that Tom Waits would have to admire the way that Pearl Jam has conducted themselves over the years (keeping it about the music, no commercials, etc.) so hopefully he would be up for it. It says that Tom Waits is playing with the Kronos Quartet though so that could make it difficult for them to collaborate.

Ohhhh, Regina Spektor too :( It sucks so bad i can't go to these things. Whoever goes MUST tape the whole show with high quality, and preferably filmed from the center/front. I'd pay good money for it. =o)

I can do without Metallica, but: Regina, Tom and Eddie - that's a dream.

Jack Irons will be playing with two of his ex-bandmates. Kinda cool.

If Eddie, Jack, and Flea ask Regina, Tom and Neil up to the stage to do an arranged rendition of Grapefruit Moon with alternate singers for each verse...i will happily die afterwards.

This is so brilliant! My friend & I were just talking about this this weekend...
Would really love to hear Ed's take on a Chili's song...one of the good ones like Breaking the girl or My Friends..unlikely but either way this is gonna be deadly!!

Interview Tom Waits afterwards, and pusuade Regina to fly over to England for breakfast with me, where we'll hang out in parks and then jam in the afternoon. That'll be everything.
