new album....older songs, newer songs, still pj
have a think about a band that u really love, other than pearl jam, when u put on their greatest hits album. driving in the car was never that good until u put on the greatest hits album, singing in the mirror was never that great until u belted out the greatest hits on the stereo and rocked out into an imaginary microphone.
come on pearl jammers, lets all grab hold of our steering wheels on the way to work and sing our lungs out all the way there, dont worry about the people staring at you when your waiting at the lights, they are probably just jealous they dont have the pearl jam greatest hits album

It's not a new album. It's a "new" greatest hits full of stuff I already have. If I wanted that, I'd just make a mixtape myself and choose the songs that I want on it, instead of giving my money away for something I don't need.
That's why it's not something for most of us to get excited about.

Hmph. The only good things to come from this would be
(a) some interesting new takes on some old songs, or
(b) some new fans getting into PJ as a result of it

I wonder if it'll get much advertising?
I also see this as a big plus. Hopefully they will advertise and alot of people will be introduced to PJ again. I bet this outsells Binaural, Riot Act, and Lost Dogs combined.

Again, it says 'remixes' of songs on Ten. What does that mean?
That they were...re...mixed..... hehe
Means Brenan O'brien played with the levels and production of the tracks some. It's pretty unanimous around here that he should remove a bunch of the Reverb off those tracks, if you want good examples of remixing, just listen to Lost Dogs, and compare those songs with their original recording

wheres the love gone??

This is more a question of "where's the money gone?" If I had 20 bucks to spare on a bunch of songs that I already have (and mostly on vinyl) then I'd be glad to support the boys. Plus, where the fuck is In My Tree?

LAME.
They could have got a more up-to-date picture of the band. Then again, I suppose Sony is trying to appeal to the frat boys by showing PJ on the front cover in their pomp.
