I like Jack's drumming but Harmless is right, that's not a great example of his playing. He struggles to keep it interesting on a lot of pre-Vitalogy songs.

I think Vitalogy really introduced PJ's fast and loose garage-band side. Some of those songs suit Jack's playing as much as Yield and No Code.

Not a great performance by Jack by any means. Merely used as an example of how much I enjoyed the way the band played when he was behind the kit. That shit it grooooooovy

Oh man, this guy's work on the new Soundgarden record is pretty much flawless.
It is.
I'm more convinced than ever that he's bored in Pearl Jam. So many things he doesn't do in PJ, so many decisions he doesn't make, that he does in this. And that's because the music pushes him to go that extra mile. Case in point: 'Attrition' is a simpler, more straightforward 'punk' song, and funnily enough, he plays it very much like he'd play a PJ song, even when (to me) they demand more. It works on this song because it's just one song... doesn't get boring. And the simpler drum style fits the song, most importantly.

Had a dream last night that Matt got kicked out of the band. Setting was in a park with the whole band at the end of a picnic. Stone brought it up, Mike backed him up. Ed bailed as it happened bc he had a solo show that night. Matt was pretty pissed. Then they replaced him with some dude who was like 7-and-a-half-feet tall and Ed couldn't hit the cymbals with his tambourines bc he couldn't reach them.
