Both of these articles are great. He continues to re-enlighten my faith in people, as he seems like a really lovely guy. I enjoyed reading the interviews very much.

In the first link posted, I was particularly happy to read that one of his favorite modern drummers is ?uestlove (from The Roots), who is one of my favorites as well. "He has the prettiest sound out there," he said. Such a simple statement, but it is really true of Ahmir Thompson and I couldn't have thought of a better way to put it.

And he mentioned Stevie Wonder's "Innervisions" as one of the greatest drum albums! I wish I could hug him for that. :D

I love Matt as Pearl Jam's drummer but I would love for him to quit the band so Soundgarden would get back together and Pearl Jam would have to get a hard hitting drummer again so Ed could quit being laid back.

But I do love Matt C. He is a great addition to the band.

Your understanding of drumming is not one to be trusted.

Next to Matt Cameron, Jack Irons can in many respects be considered a bit of a hack.

Best. Thread. Ever.

I am a huge Matt Cameron fan! I loved him in Soundgarden, and I am so glad that he is a part of Pearl Jam. He is so talented, I am in awe whenever I watch him drum.

He's just an all-around class act.

Drum gods don't generally get kicked out of bands.

Look, seriously, is there any way we can keep this to a Matt Cameron Appreciation Thread and not bring up every other drummer that has played with Pearl Jam? The contrast and comparison thing is extremely stale.
