matt cameron is playing like an animal, and the sound of the drums is great (at least on the gorge, which is the only show i've downloaded). they sound tighter and better than on the 03 tour, imo

solat is a great track from the gorge too. too bad they keep messing up in my tree, combining the original version with the slow parts from the 03 version, wtf is that all about?

of course, that's just me

i agree with everything that you have said except the gorge version of 'in my tree' could be the best that i have heard, definately my fave since 05/03/98 anyway, i loved the way that they mixed the 2 versions, matt kicks ass! :D

One thing that is noticeably different is that Matt has tightened his snare drum head considerably. I know people have complained in the past that his snare has sounded muddy. In my opinion, the tigher snare makes every song sound better. It gives more ring and more pop to every drum beat.

Sounds to me like he's changed to a bell brass snare...and from the pics at the gorge, it's a yamaha instead of the keplinger snares he's always used. I agree that it makes every song better...definitely nice to have a good, defined snare beat.

I agree. It was the boots from the last tour that really started to grow on me. The energy he displays is amazing

Not long after the end of their first tour, Mother Love Bone's singer Andrew Wood passed away and sadness descended upon the band. Chris Cornell wrote two songs, Say Hello 2 Heaven and Reach Down in tirbute to Wood. Some other friends of Wood, Stone Gossard (guitar) and Jeff Ament (bass), who had played with him in Mother Love Bone, also thought a tribute was in order. So, along with Cameron on drums and Mike McCready on guitar, they recorded Temple Of The Dog, and released it on A&M records in 1990.

Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready were also forming a new band around this time, known to many as Mookie Blaylock. The three were in search of a drummer and a singer, so to record a demo tape, they requested the help of Cameron to record a bunch of songs. Most of the songs on those tapes appeared on Pearl Jam's early albums, or later surfaced as b-sides

He's been around since the beginning
