NEW PJ song for Xmas ... thanks, smile on a day I REALLY needed it!!
_________________ 2009 was a great year for PJ gigs looking forward to 2010 and: Columbus, Noblesville, Cleveland, Buffalo, Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen, Berlin, Arras, Werchter, Lisbon, some more US (wherever is the Anniversary show/a birthday show)
Children's music. REAL music for children. So much children's music is complete crap something like this would be a true Christmas gift. And for it to be Holiday related would be even better. It would transcend the children's genre.
I really like this single. I'm gonna dream music that doesn't exist tonight.
as stip said, this is what a pj christmas single should be.
that's just poor justification for a bad song. they're have been some really great xmas singles in the past. Not because they're "fun little songs". They were great because they were great songs

Totally, I think Santa God is atrocious. Why should I should I cut it some slack because it's about Christmas?
Let Me Sleep and Strangest Tribe were MUCH better Pearl Jam Christmas songs, you've gotta admit.
PS: On a personal note, I hate "Santa" too, ugh. One of the most depressing things over here is the increase of the use of "Santa" instead of the "proper" Father Christmas (or Saint Nick!).

I didn't say it was a great song--it was a fun disposable christmas song. And if my choice was this or a disc with angel, drifting, or last soldier I would chose the later. But I do like the idea of the band throwing out holiday themed stuff--something casual and fun.

It's different. It's adventurous for them. I like it.
I have no idea what people's objections are to the lyrics. Could someone please explain in terms other than uncool and slit their skin? wtf? I'm not the only one with kids surely... I'm not the only one whose gone through the "lie for the sake of a monumental mind fuck fantasy but at least they will love it till they learn the truth" dilemma?

.
I don't have kids and we don't 'do' Santa Claus over here ("always Coca-Cola") but I have a niece and we celebrate Sinterklaas on December 5th and I love fuelling the m.y.t.h., for as long as she still innocent enough to believe it. So I know what you mean. Happy monumental mind fuck fantasy holidays!
