I have someone here at work harping on PJ not being that popular and I let him know that I'm pretty sure they did really well on their last tour in the US - 2003. (I know the VTC sold out everywhere but I don't want to count those since they were small venues) Any way, he was surprised by that and still doesn't believe me - are there stats out there with this type of info form the last tour?

Fivehorizons.com should be able to provide attendance figures. twofeetthick.com is a good resource, they may have some info for you.

I remember checking the stats on billboard when they were touring US. I rememebr doing the math and they would have been number one if theyre ticket prices wernet cheaper than the rest(metallica was number one at the time) pearl jam was number 3 or 5, but they DID have the most ticket sales... and it said they take in at least 50,000 a person for one night.
there's trends in ticket sales when it comes to PJ concerts.....
East Coast....NYC, Boston, Philly, DC - those shows will sell out in a matter of hours....same goes for big places like Chicago, Los Angeles, etc
if i remember correctly tho they had to move their Oklahoma show to a slightly smaller place because of lack of ticket sales. their concerts dont generate that much hype in the south it seems.

or in other words, the red states dont like pearl jam as much

Well it looks like we have representatives from Australia, Europe and the US (the blue states) saying how PJ sells out there in the matter of hours, but we lack this appreciation for the band in the red states of the US so needless to say we either secede or declare war

I know in Denver they didn't sell out, but the Pepsi Center holds over 20,000 people for concerts. I know they still sold close to 13,000 tickets though, which isn't bad. The other Denver area concert venues, Red Rocks and Fiddler's Green (which a vast majority of bands that come through play one show at) both hold around 9,000 people, so they sold enough to warrant an arena show.

i live in choctaw, oklahoma and it's kind of hard to think that the ford center(our biggest arena in the state, 20,000 capacity) would be an arena pearl jam would get a "down size" in. i never remember this even being the case, in fact, i'm surprised they sold as many tickets as they did in that arena seeing as they haven't played here since the '93 vs. tour. i was in the ten club seating and if they didn't sell that fucker out, which i'm not sure if they did, then they sure as fuck came pretty close because i looked around quite a bit and that arena was packed to the top!
