Anyone know how they decide? I believe Ed says in the Immagine DVD, "I go wherever they send me." Or something to that effect. Is it really now just a matter of market research? Or do the guys actually get together and decide each and every location they'd like to play and when? Something I never really thought of.
Since I can't get into that other site, figured I'd post this here...

Mostly I don't think the guys decide.
but then Katowice (the poles), Marseilles (Jeff's skateboarding), Newcastle (the petition) seem to be kind of requests..so they might give some input..but in the end, don't think they really decide (even if there's a place they'd like to play, if it's really uneconomical, doubt they will)

even Ed acknowledged during the 07 tour (Wembley?) that the tour organisers where thinking about the band more than the crew with schedules (and by extension, touring fans since we get similar, even more shit than them since we organise ourselves!)

Usually, I think, the bands decide that they want to do some dates for whatever reason, be it financial or otherwise. Then their management contacts various promoters for certain areas and tell them to draw something up and then they go back and forth for something that works. So, in effect, this year, they decided they wanted to do a set amount of dates in certain areas and management tells the promoter to fill in the holes. So management knows that NYC, Boston, Philly are all spots that sell the best so they plan a few dates on the way from the Southern spots they are playing to these locations.

yes, and I did not even do the whole tour . It was hard They should have also stopped the tour near my home instead of on the other side of Europe
