http://www.bradcorporation.com/ Stone's been busy.....on a new Brad record. This one has been a work of progress since early 2003 but it looks like it will be out soon:
''Hear it here: "Reason Enough" featuring Stone Gossard, Shawn Smith and Regan Hagar
Shawn Smith, local musician extraordinaire, has posted a new track on his MySpace page that is sort of a Brad B-side. The track "Reason Enough" was slated to be on the upcoming Brad record, but it was cut from the album. So instead of being on the new Brad, Smith is keeping it for himself and the track features Stone Gossard and Regan Hagar (both of Brad). He also posted a picture of Shannon Hoon with the song, because in his words: I put up a picture of Shannon Hoon cause he loved our first record and I just felt like he would have enjoyed this song. Plus, he is the free spirit I wish I could be You can listen to the song by clicking here. In other Brad news, the band will be performing four or five shows in October according to Smith.'' ''"Brad fans.....
I just put up a Brad song, Reason Enough, from our soon to be released new album. It's a song of mine that I am very proud of. In other words, I dig it quite a bit. I put this up without consent from the other guys so if it is taken down in the next few days you will know that Brad is a facist regime!! Just kidding....... Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think...... Love, Shawn" http://www.myspace.com/thediamondhand

Don't miss the reunion of Stone Gossard, Shawn Smith, Regan Hagar, Mike Berg with additional band members.
''in late summer of 03 Brad went in and recorded what was to be thier 4th album. Rough mixes were made and some cds were sent to labels without much interest and somehow the days past and it was all sort of forgotten. Well, Regan didn't forget, he was quite frustrated that the record wasn't coming out and he thought about putting it out himself but he chose to put out a sort of B-sides collection called Brad vs Satchel(thanks Regan!). People seemed to like it but without a label not many people heard it. So.......now, in September 2007 the lost 03 record is being mixed and is sounding really great. God only knows when it will come out, but if all goes well, pretty fuckin soon!''
Another Brad album is cool, but I would prefer a Stone solo album.
I've only ever nabbed one Brad album, but it did very little for me. Stone's solo album was interesting in the way Pete Townsend songs about homo erotic subject matter are interesting. "Kind of catchy. Also: what?!?"

Well-put.

Liked the first one, loved the second. '...Discovery Park' and 'Brad Vs Satchel' were disappointing to say the least. Shawn's second solo album is the business. I'll get the new one and hope to be pleasantly suprised. I've the feeling I might be disappointed instead though...

I'm a huge fan of "Shame" and "Interiors". I thought WtDP was awful and I didn't even buy BvS. I hope that "Reason Enough" is not the sound they are going for on the next album - because that song sounded more like stuff off of Welcome to Discovery Park than their previous material. The song sounds like it is deeply personal to Shawn, but it didn't seem like a very good song to me.

it reminded me of The Day Brings if any song, but I only have Interiors and then some songs I downloaded off their website.

I'm pretty excited about this one. All of Brad's albums (especially Interiors) still get regular play from me.
Same with me.
Hopefully the album won't be too hard to find here out East, eh D? Seriously, I haven't seena copy of any Brad albums here in town...ever.
The first 2 albums are pretty easy to find at HMV & Music World. But the Welcome to Discovery Park .. that's limited edition in these parts. I hope we can get the new album at our local stores here. If not .. official site or 10 club it will have to be.

went to see Shawn Smith last night in a pub in Putney, London (first gig I can WALK to ) great show, I wasn't expecting anything, didn't know his stuff, anot even a fan of Brad really, but I dug it. Hopefully my recording will come out ok.
he was meeting people, signing stuff for a long time after (got that baby signed :p)
So I asked about the new Brad record: it's now mixed but he has no idea when it'll be released. it was recorded 5 years ago (and no, he didn't say started being recorded 5 years ago, he said recorded; as in finished!)
_________________ 2009 was a great year for PJ gigs looking forward to 2010 and: Columbus, Noblesville, Cleveland, Buffalo, Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen, Berlin, Arras, Werchter, Lisbon, some more US (wherever is the Anniversary show/a birthday show)

I used to LOVE Interiors, but it hasn't aged well for me. I used to dig just about every song on it and I remember thinking that it described the direction of music I was going. But then it fell off for some reason.
The other two are good, and I put all three in and enjoy them from time to time, but I never bought Satch Vs Brad. I'd rather another Stone solo record, but I'd buy a new Brad...even though this thread started last year and we still don't have a new album.
