Many people are saying that "I don't need to but this CD" or "Why line Sony's pockets?"

Both are valid points. However, I think the week of November 16th, we NEED to buy their greatest hits. This may be their last hurrah near the top of the Billboard Charts ( I say near, because Eminem's latest is released the same day). Now before you automatically retort with "they don't care about sales" - I think we should look at this release as a way to maintain their legacy, introduce new fans, and old fans who may have missed their last 3 or 4 albums.... maybe big sales of rearviewmirror will show the general public that they are still relevant...

Buy it as a Christmas gift - if you don't want it for your own collection. The inclusion of MOH means the band must have been given input - lets support them as they enter this new phase of their careers, and let them exit the corportate music industry with a bang.

I'm not buying it. Sony sucks for doing a shitty job with this, and who cares about charts.

Yeah, there really is no major push for me to get the Greatest Hits CD, simply because to me, the live shows are kind of like a greatest hits album, only 10000000000000 times better.

Why couldn't Sony put some rare tracks or unreleased tracks on the greatest hits CD? Or some live stuff? C'mon I have all these songs!

I'm only buying it if it comes w/ a cool DVD or if it's out on vinyl.

look, i love pearl jam as much as anyone but i simply don't have enough money to buy an album with music i already own besides the fact that there are too many albums of stuff i haven't heard (or that i downloaded) that i want to get and those have to take priority

My mission is not to buy it. And I don't fancy my chances of success.

Maybe calling it a mission was a bit much.

I know personally I won't be able to walk past a new release from Pearl Jam in the record store and not buy it; I still hope it sells well.....

c'mon why aren't fans going to buy their fav bands hits album. It's stupid... Everyone on RM should have a copy. It's great to look back on PJ''s amazing career on a 2 disc set right?

People say they are selling out etc., but every band nearly in history has released an essential, hits or singles album and it's Pj's turn.

I'm going to be first in line for this and I can't wait for it!

its called 'live on 2 legs' and 'lost dogs'

this is greatest hits! :) to me, buying this means i like this band SO MUCH, that i do wish for them to have my money. we know they put on superb shows, and that they donate their earned money to good causes. so i enjoy seeing that my money spent towards this means that i won't give that piece of sh*t filth eminem any of MY hard earned money. don't be so hard headed over it! it's supporting the one u love!

PJ all the way!

I'll be getting it just for collection purposes. I'm sort of a completist.
