Supposedly an email went out today regarding the 10C presale for The Who tribute show. according to some, at the bottom, it says something to the effect of
"stay tuned for info on 2008 bootlegs coming soon..."
just happy to hear that they are doing SOMETHING, and thought I'd share.
edit: exact language: "PS. - Information about 2008 bootlegs will be coming soon."
also, The Who show will be televised on July 17, 9pm ET.

This tour would be short enough to put together a nice box set, no? Take out Bonnaroo (I assume the festival owns the rights to those performances) and the Beacon show, and you've got 12 shows. Imagine a box set with individual CD cases for each of those shows (a la "Live at the Gorge"), a 2-DVD set of video highlights, and a book full of photography. Since it would take a while to put all of this together, they could offer MP3 downloads to those who pre-order the set. I'd pay between $100-$150 for that, fo' sure.

I don't think Bonnaroo would put up too much of a fight if PJ wanted to release their show. So, were something like this to happen, then I'd hope it was included, since it's the only show I'll get to see.
Funny you mention a box set; I was just thinking this morning that the tour is short enough that I might as well just get all of the shows when they're released. If they do a box set (or at least a buy all option) then I'm pretty sure I'll be dropping the cash.

I guess we should be finding out more about this today or tomorrow...I'll be interested to see what they're planning to do (as long as it's not iTunes).

After the festival weekend is over, how can you keep that Bonnaroo feeling alive? How will you be able to show your friends what your favorite bands sounded like? Well, we know one way. Soon after the festival concludes, the full sets performed at Bonnaroo by some of its great artists will be made available exclusively on iTunes.
