Got to go see a “Get Out The Vote” concert at the Showbox on election eve. Tom Morello was the headliner, and let me say he put on a great show. Very authoritative on the mic…impressive stuff. It was also nice to get my PJ fix while they tour everywhere but home…Mike McCready & Stone Gossard were also on the bill.
I’ll tell you folks, Stone just continues to get gayer. I don’t even know how to describe his set. Folk music? He was on stage with about 6 other people but no drummer. Lame. Mike on the other hand, of course, rocked. He played with Shadow ’86 (do yourself a favor and look up their 1980’s press photo elsewhere on the Red Mosquito board…it’s hilarious), one of his early bands.
Anyway, great time and pics below…including a nice shot of Mike in one of his classic poses.

I would. Stone sounds like Stone. Morello sounds like a parody of Morello.

i probably over-reached there, but my point was that it would be interesting to put tom in with pj and see what they came up with. morello and mike have very different styles, and it would be interesting to see what happened if they mixed it up a bit. i hardly think they would end up sounding like rage or audioslave. morello is only one guy, and mike, ed and jeff would be there to counterbalance that. at the very least, they would put together some awesome rockers imo.
