Can anybody please explain to me why people might consider this to be the best song on Avocado? It's easily the worst, debatable, with Big Wave nipping at its heels. In my opinion, the song lacks an intersting subject matter, structure, vocal melodies, or any strong lyrics, yet I see that it gets voted the survivor of the entire album? People seem to love the intro, but it's just some normal chord strums reversed and FXed. Mike's solo is the only redeeming point of this otherwise toss-away song. I'm lost.

Now, if the title has said "MITS" instead of "Severed Hand", you might have had a case.

I'd take Marker over Severed Hand any day. Just my opinion.

I thought Severed Hand won the avocado album contest here last week? Being that it's not even in my top-5 songs on the album, I would also call it overrated.

As to MITS: Juve, shut up!

Yes! I thought everyone loved this stupid song for some reason. It's good, but not compared to the rest of the album, and certainly doesn't even come close to matching other low points in their catalogue.

I get to yell "YEAH!" when they play it live, so therefore, it's cool.

Love the lyrical visuals, love the chorus and a fantastic bridge.

IMO, MITS is one of the best PJ songs ever written. Probably my favourite PJ song of all time! I don't know how anyone could not like this song!

It's awesome.

The intro alone has multiple levels and builds and builds until the main riff. My only complaint is how the vocals come in, I think it's very dry and tired sounding.

The chrous rocks, the bridge is awesome, the solos are rock and the outro music is some of my favorite PJ ever recorded.

I can't believe that everyone doesn't like the same song! Unheard of. This is truley a sad day.

If you put "live" as the last word in the title, then I might agree. Although, IMO, it sounds much better now than on most of Leg1.

Still my favorite song off the album. I LOVE the subject matter(not too many PJ songs about drugs), the intro is awesome, the whole song structure is what pearl jam is all about, the solo by Mike is one of his best in a long time, and the song isn't too long or too short. PERFECT
