Found this in the Seattle Times:

His show Monday at the Paramount was such a rarity — his only public performance this year in America (he did two shows in Vancouver, B.C., over the weekend) — that tickets sold out in minutes, and scalpers were hawking them for $200 and up outside the theater.

"Even Eddie Vedder had to buy a ticket!" Waits' publicist exclaimed before the show. And there was Pearl Jam's lead singer, in the lobby, kissing a woman repeatedly before re-entering the theater for the encores.

Would've been cool if Eddie had performed with him but considering the incredible duet w/ Bruce, now I'm just being greedy :D

Oh & here's the link if you're interested but it's really not much of a review

This post almost makes me want to cry - tears of joy, of course. Were I ever to see those two perform together, there is nothing in this world that would stop the waterworks.

Wow! 2 mentions in the same issue of the Times. That's cool! :)

Why? That would be ridiculous.

i saw tom waits at the bridge school benefit in '99...ed definitely showed props to tom when pj played...during tom's set, he did this thing with his voice where he was breathing heavy and it sounded really cool...ed mimicked the tom waits sound during one of pj's songs (can't remember which one).
