All this discussion about digipaks reminded me that some of my PJ cds are in terrible shape. This is primarily because i used to put them in my bookbag when going to school/work. I guess one of the drawbacks of the nice packaging is that it turns to crap if you don't take care of it...

That's why I have a special place in my room for CD digipacks. Also for all my PJ ones I took them out of the ever gay digipack cases and put them into blank CD cases. So two of those fit in a slot for one formal CD in a CD rack.

see...in my opinion...a worn out cd booklet shows years of use, and adds character...much like a guitar...

you could always pick up an extra copy here or there at used record stores or just buy them from 10c...only like 10 bucks...then you have a fresh copy should the need arise

yeah, my corners of Vitalogy are coming apart and the sides of the spine are white

I actually perfer the cardboard cases because the cases on my copies of Ten and VS are always cracking. This is when I take out some crappy CD that I want to kick myself for buying five years ago and swap out the cases.

Horrible old CDs come to some use, eh?

Nothing drives me more crazy than when my CDs skip. I treat them each like they are my own child but yet they still skip. All in different way. My Vitalogy CD looks like dog chewed on it... Some of my boots are in bad shape too, i dont know how or why

My cases are all fine tho

I have repurchased Ten (the Japanese one on the repurchase) but I still keep my original CD because it shows so much love. The disc is pretty well in tact, no skips, but the hinges on the jewel case have broken off, the front and back are cracked, and all of the little teeth that hold the disc in the case have broken off.

But the liner notes still have that funny smell that they had the first time I opened them up. I love that smell. It takes me back to a time and a plce when everything was possible, I had the best friends in the world, and the revolution would march on to the music of Pearl Jam. :)
