Long Nights has leaked. What do you think? Just as a reminder--songs cannot be offered publically on the site, and begging for pms is discouraged. If you do your homework and read the appropriate threads you should be able to track down a copy for yourself without too much trouble

Thanks to Badradio for transcribing the lyrics

Long Nights

Have no fear
For when I'm alone
I'll be better off than I was before

I've got this light
I'll be around to grow
Who I was before
I cannot recall

Long nights allow me to feel...
I'm falling...I am falling
The lights go out
Let me feel
I'm falling
I am falling safely to the ground
Ah...

I'll take this soul that's inside me now
Like a brand new friend
I'll forever know

I've got this light
And the will to show
I will always be better than before

Long nights allow me to feel...
I'm falling...I am falling
The lights go out
Let me feel
I'm falling
I am falling safely to the ground

The atmosphere in this song is wonderful. The main guitar line gives the song a sense of urgency, and its speed contrasts nicely with the slow, heavy vocals, and eddie gives his voice just the right amount of wounded confusion. The cymbal crash at the end closes the song with a sense of weight and importance. This song sounds like being alone at night, looking up at a cold and empty sky, and trying to convince yourself that you’re okay and better off alone. Lyrically this is probably the weakest of the 3 songs (although the chorus is strong) but the music and the vocals are so strong you don’t notice

This song alone makes the album worth getting.

I love Eddie's voice in this register..it's difficult to think of a stronger singer when Eddie is singing away like this. Beautiful production on the voice and guitars on this one.

the music of this song definitely reminds me of something, I can't place it
I thought it was Noir Désir - Le Vent Nous Portera but I checked and I'm not that sure now

I listened to it, but not very carefully. I can hear what I think that you are hearing, the chord progression is carried by the same kind of rapid arpeggios. That clear sparkling tone is also similar. Is that also a mandolin on Noir Desir? A really lovely song. I had never heard it before, thanks.

So sorry. A pretty name for a band, but I thought that it was part of the title of the song.

OUR DESIRE-THE WIND WILL CARRY US

It was such a poetic match.

So sorry again. Still very poetic.

My only excuse is that I haven't slept in days.

Decided to get rid of the quote train. Working, working, working. You people at RM are the only thing that's keeping me going. The project was just finished this morning, though, and I'm not starting a new one until Monday. Hallelujah! :)
