Ok. When they play I Got Shit/ Id live, what's the bit Ed changes to in the last chorus? Where he starts it with "I take a bow". What's he say right after that? I've been trying to figure that out for over a decade now and still can't. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've just listened to some old versions and Touring Band. To me it sounds like
Oh I take a bow Only said my holy vow Oh I paid the price I never held you in real life
I looked for a slower version and found this one: 9/23/98 - I Got Shit

I actually don't like the lyrical variations he throws into I Got shit. The original formulation is stronger

But do you know what he says in those variations?
Listening this morning, I'm agreeing with the "holy vow" part. Now just gotta figure out what's right before it. I swear sometimes I think he's just mumbling.

he probably has some vague idea what he wants to say but I think you're right. He's just mumbling.
