7) Mike thought they played great for the VH1 performance but thought they were they were “off” @ Bonnaroo

I think #5 gives this away as hoax. Whether or not they are playing, I doubt a band member would just go around telling random strangers about it. And good lord, if this is true that "cousin" sounds like a huge pest. The guy is trying to eat breakfast and the waiter bombards him with questions like its some kind of interview?

like I said, take it for what it's worth. if it is a hoax, this person has too much time on his hands. but it wouldnt surprise me considering some of the threads over there.

Bridge would not be surprise though. I'm just sayin'.

I did think it was interesting that Mike picked the guitar up after smashing it...maybe he felt bad....
