Avenged Sevenfold are currently at number 7 on this particular listing of "The Greatest Rock Band of All Time".
Perhaps I won't bother voting on this particular poll....

Talk about holding on to the past.
3 years ago isn't that past

I didn't say it was "that past" now did I?
Anyway I mocked this comment as it was a pretty random thing to note. Not a comment on a particular thing the person liked about the band, but a rather --if I may be so bold-- meaningless reader poll. I believe it may have been an online poll and it is all too common for these things to be tilted once it is posted say, a message board. These polls should be taken, in my opinion, with the same seriousness as those VH1/MTV Top 100 XXXXXX.
And for what it is worth, 3 years is 16% of Pearl Jam's career (1990, correct?). Just meaningless statistics but it is just something to ponder.

I don't know if it was online or not. I never voted. You're totally right--these polls shouldn't be taken that seriously, but it was still pretty cool since USA today has the largest readership of any paper in this country
