welcome to the board
Porch, Release, and Indifference, are all pretty likely for me

Release and Indifference fo sho.
Otherwise, probably In My Tree and Present Tense from No Code; Sad, Sleight Of Hand, Grievance, Parting Ways from the Binaural sessions; Comatose and Parachutes from Avocado...all because they show the band excelling in everything they're best at without sounding like the Ten/Radio friendly band that they're assumed to be.

I dunno why i never got into indifference, i catch a lot of grief for it too. Grievance is one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs that performance on Letterman changed my life!

oh good, another variation of this thread!
well...
none of the songs mentioned really qualify as 'underrated'.... maybe by the general public or whatever. but here, unless you are last kiss or sweet lew, there are a ton of folks who hold you in very high regard. i mean, who the fuck doesnt like tremor christ? or release?
a lot of people seem to dislike inside job, which is too bad. sure, its doesnt have the lyrical presence that songs like immortality or dte have. but it sounds pretty enough that if it had a facebook account, i would stalk it.

Sad.
I played this on the juke box at the bar last night.
before i got my dui years back, i used to LOVE playing semi obscure pj songs on the bar jukebox. you can tell immediately by the reactions if there is a fan in the room, and BAM you have a conversation/new friend.

To be fair, the bar I was out was just my local and 6 of the 10 people in the room were my friends. And of those there was me who loves the song, Renae who also loves it, my brother who loves it, and my friend Dan who has loved it since I took him to see Pearl Jam live.

Calm down, dear. The initial post said to suggest songs to people who would only know PJ's radio stuff.

You could probably just pick a song of any album starting with No Code if you are looking for an underrated PJ song.
I wouldn't think anything off the first 3 records would be underrated. I mean they sold millions of copies. The extra tracks from those years like Yellowledbetter and the Singles songs are pretty well known as well. Even if someone technically never heard Breath they are gonna like it if they like Ten.
