Post subject: your all time favorite pearl jam song? Immortality?

So immortality has now won the song tournament twice. is it your favorite song, or is it just high enough on many people's lists to do well in these tournaments? If not immortality, than what?

it's a great song, but not even top 10 for me
1 and 2 are alive and corduroy

It may be their very best. It's definitely in my top 5, of which I really have a hard time ranking them.
Stip, Vitalogy is your favorite album ever, right? How can Immortality possibly not be in your top 10 in that case? I love Corduroy too, but Immortality is THE song that personifies that album the best imo.

This further enhances my theory that Vitalogy is their middle album, bringing together the two big groups of fans. There's those who love Ten, Vs. Vitalogy and (god knows why) Avocado. And there's those who love Vitalogy, No Code, Yield, Binaural.* But they all agree on Vitalogy. Let the RM vote for best album and you'll see I'm right. And from Vitalogy, Immortality is the logical favourite. I would prefer Stupid Mop, but I didnt vote, so I can't complain. But Immortality has this appeal to the 2nd group of fans that a song like Corduroy or Not For You has a little less. It's the perfectly logical winner of the voting.
* This is of course generally speaking. Don't even care to protest or show me you're an exception. You just know I'm right.

I think I'd say that corduroy is the more definitive vitalogy song as it is equally as important to the record as immortality and personifies the band as well. Immortality is almost certainly a better song than Alive (not sure I'd concede that about Corduroy) and is quite possible their finest moment in songwriting (although black, betterman, corduroy, indifference, rvm, tremor christ, and a few others could make a claim there as well), but it's never struck quite the same chord with me as some of the others. this is not to say that it isn't a great song (it is)--and I'd give it 5 stars. When I give someone a pearl jam mix it is invariably on it. But if I'm gonna make a mix cd of pearl jam songs for myself it probably will miss the cut

I like it, not top 10 though.
I think that Release or All or None would be my No. 1 songs.
DtE, Smile, YL, Alive, RVM, Present Tense, WMA, Wash make up the top 10. But that's absolutely subject to change to. I imagine Immortality would come in between 20 and 30 for me.
