No contradiction. It's lyrics to be taken in many different perspectives and angles. Don't assume what he says literally is what he's trying to neccesarily get across. It's all to be interpreted and analyzed and for each individual listener to come upon a unique understanding of what the music and lyrics mean to them, personally. Two random quotes don't create such IMO.

Yeah, I don't find those contradicting at all unless I'm missing something... But on the other hand:

This one is excused by the fact that Dissident sucks.

i dont think you can compare 2 different songs and say their lyrics are contradicting, but when i read this title the first thing i thought was love boat captain.

yah good points, this is what happens when you have nothing to do but listen to music between your classes, you think of stupid stuff. Just thought it was interesting.

IMHO, sense is more than the thought and the heart, maybe both together. maybe he's talking about the sixth sense, not the common sense... whatever.

the first love is the love in the game of love (let the games begin), superficial love, tv-ads love, reality-show love, tv-series love, newstand-magazine love, third class-literature love, the i-love-you-i-love-this-dress-i-love-this-car-i-love-this-mobile-i-love-this-pizza vilified kind of love. that kind of love brings pain, because it's a selfish kind of love. in the end, it's not love at all. the last love we all need and that is all that we need, is true love for one another. an unspoken kind of love. but it's been spoken of before and it's good that it keeps on being spoken of. IMHO.

i always thought "first comes love and then comes pain" was a the progression of letting your heart out and having it broken.

yes, if your heart was broken maybe it was not true love, at least from one side...
