Stern was explaining to Patty Smyth why he wouldnt allow her band Scandal to come on the show. He said his show has changed and they really dont do musical acts anymore. He said they wouldnt even have Pearl Jam on the show, and they wanted to come on. All except Ed which is why Stern wouldnt have them on. Smythe went on to state that she had "dirt" on Eddie Vedder, but the conversation ended there.

here is what was said (I tape Stern because I'm usually getting ready for work at this time and cant listen live).Also-this thread is misleading because the whole thing was that Stern said no to even a band he likes,Pearl Jam.It wasnt a discussion about Eddie saying no.
Stern:So we sit in these meetings and I said look 'we are not doing music' we are not even having Pearl Jam on.They wanted to come in and talk.And I said No. Patti Smyth:You are not a Pearl Jam fan,are you? Stern:I'm a big fan of Pearl Jam Robin:When did Pearl Jam wanna come in? Stern:They wanted to come in without Eddie Vedder.I said "You gotta be out of your minds" Patti Smyth:Well,ofcourse you wouldnt have them then.But he doesnt talk a whole lot.Does he anyway? Stern:Well,but we would have gotten something out of him Patty Smyth:I have some Dirt on him! Stern:what have you got? Patty Smyth:(laughing)I'm not giving it to you now! Robin:so then give it to some other radio station!

thanks for the this... i was wondering about patty smyth's comment... seemed like she was taking a shot at ed until i read this and realized it was all in fun

I seen a recent pic of her and she is not that hot anymore.But still kind of cute.
